These SMS Terms and Conditions govern participation in the New Era Broadband service-related SMS messaging program.

SMS Program Description

New Era Broadband offers an optional SMS messaging program for existing customers who voluntarily choose to receive service-related informational text messages concerning their New Era Broadband service.

Messages may include:

  • Internet service outage notifications
  • Planned network maintenance notices
  • Installation and service appointment reminders
  • Network and service status updates
  • Account-related notifications
  • Other informational communications directly related to the customer’s existing New Era Broadband service

The New Era Broadband SMS program is for service-related informational messages only.

This SMS program does not include advertising, sales offers, promotions, discounts, product solicitations, upgrade offers, referral offers, or other marketing or promotional messages.

Consent to receive service-related SMS messages does not constitute consent to receive marketing or promotional SMS messages.

How Customers Opt In

Customers voluntarily enroll in the New Era Broadband SMS program through their secure New Era Broadband customer portal after their customer account has been established.

SMS messaging is disabled by default. To enroll, the customer must log into the secure customer portal and affirmatively change the SMS messaging setting from OFF to ON.

Providing New Era Broadband with a mobile telephone number does not automatically enroll a customer in SMS messaging.

Becoming a New Era Broadband customer does not automatically enroll a customer in SMS messaging.

SMS consent is optional and is not required to purchase, establish, maintain, or receive New Era Broadband service.

The customer’s affirmative action of enabling SMS messaging in the customer portal constitutes consent specifically to receive the service-related informational SMS messages described in these Terms and Conditions.

Message Frequency and Charges

Message frequency varies depending upon service events, account activity, scheduled appointments, network maintenance, outages, and other service-related circumstances.

Message and data rates may apply according to the customer’s wireless service plan.

New Era Broadband does not charge customers a separate fee for participating in its SMS messaging program.

Opting Out

Customers may opt out of the New Era Broadband SMS program at any time by replying STOP to a New Era Broadband text message.

Customers may also opt out by disabling SMS messaging through their secure New Era Broadband customer portal.

After opting out, the customer will no longer receive messages through this SMS program unless the customer subsequently opts in again.

Opting out of SMS messaging does not affect the customer’s New Era Broadband Internet service or other New Era Broadband services.
